Military Support Group Starting

We want to invite anyone who has a loved one in the military to join us.

Meetings: Held 2 times monthly on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

Time: 7:00 PM

Where: At the home of Marty and Joan Estes, 202 Grant St., Galion Ohio 44833 419-468-3463

Why: We gather to pray for our troops and families.
Care packages are sent to troops overseas, but also to troops serving stateside--as we believe that all troops need to be encouraged and supported. Cards and letters are also sent.

Suggested items include:

Snack Foods (nonperishable, non crushable) -Pringles, Beef Jerky, Crackers, Hard Candy, Gum and Gatorade or Powdered Drink Mixes

Hygiene items -Soap, Baby Wipes, Shampoo, Lotion, Sun Block, Lip Balm, Shower Gel, Purell Hand Cleanser and including Odor Eaters Insoles, Foot Powder, Eye Drops, Medicated Powder, Cough drops, Insect Repellent, Vitamins, Stick Up Air Freshners

Nerf Toys, Frisbees, other games

Freezer Ziplock Bags -for storage to keep sand out

Paper Back Books, Crossword Puzzles, Word Search, Magazines, Cartoons, Comics, Decks of Cards, Games, Pens, Pencils, Stationary, Greeting Cards, Journals

Articles about pride in our military, special services or tributes, pictures of signs and military support seen in community

The VFW has been very helpfull in supporting the troops with phone cards. We take item donations, cash donations for shipping, any support that anyone is willing to give is great, and very much appreciated!!!

We have 5 military personel on our list at this time (Feb, 2006). Anyone who knows of someone in the military and would like them to be added to our list, please let us know. All are welcome to attend the support group to help share, support, pray and give encouragement to the troops and families. We try to get updates about the situation and our troops and share that in our meetings. We encourage anyone who has a heart for the troops--(does not have to be family)---to be involved.
