The 15th Galion Day was held Saturday, 2.23.2013 at Lamplighter Village in Melbourne. We were expecting around 70 Galionites to attend this years party. The final count was 62. It was a great day weather wise. There were 5 new attendees and a four legged visitor (see if you can find him in the picture?) this year. As usual some people found long lost friends that they had not seen in a while which happens about every year.

Guests started arriving about 11:00 AM and by 12 noon the food tables were full. The main table had shrimp with cocktail sauce, chicken, pulled pork and sloppy joe with buns, side dishes such as, pasta and potato salads, baked beans and many others. The dessert table was especially loaded this year with chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, hummingbird cake, brownies, key lime and peanut butter pies and other assorted goodies.

An email from one of our guests pretty well sums it up:

Hi ya'all:
We really had another good time in Melbourne. The area is so nice and where we get together is just right for our group. It looked like we had about the same number as last year. Of course, the food is plentiful and good. The desserts are out standing and more than you can eat. I had two pieces of cake and a piece of pie.
Two weeks ago we purchased a black and white mini-poodle and did not want to leave him home so we put him in a cage and brought him along. He weighs 2 1/2 pounds and fits in your hand. After lunch, some of the ladies wanted to see him and passed him around. He had his picture taken 4 times. As I write this, he is still sleeping, he had a busy day. Thanks for the hospitality, come up this way some time and let us know.
