| As the weather warmed, the building materials started to thaw. Different places started to sag and require external support. Some places were simply removed until replaced with new. The old steel column in the middle of the old Dining Room had sunk into the floor sometime earlier and the two small pictures at the bottom show the damage caused by about two rows of the brick in the column below had pulverized at the basement floor |

The picture at the right was taken just before the stabilizing and sealing off was completed as shown in the small picture to the left. This window was the fire escape for the extreme west side of the 2nd floor. With the stabilizing contract completed the project was parked for about 3 weeks, not because of the weather, but because of some paperwork difficulties in releasing the construction contract. |

| This is the only way up until the new stair case is finished. The ladder is at the back of the B-Unit. You can see clear through to the old Dining Room on Harding Way. | This is the second floor in the B-Unit. The ladder (picture at left) comes up to here. It has changed from Hotel Rooms to having possibilities for an apartment unit or two. The old plumbing still has to be removed. |

| There was a story that the 1940 remodelers buried mattress and springs in the wall. Here it is. | The old inadequate front desk fire alarm. | Could this be an old dining booth? It would be the only one that was found. |

| There are still some issues up on the third floor. This is the front hall (left) up by Room 201 in the top front corner. There was a lot of ice and as it melts more damage is found. Could the building have stood up under another winter? |
