Quite a view from the third floor main hallway window on the Public Square.
 
This is the third floor and the corner is where the old Room 201 used to be. The top and right picture was taken before the roof was replaced. The bottom left picture was a little later after the flooring was removed.

   
The "hole" from the roof on down is still there. The old building is being brought back using today's technology.
Right: The roof work has progressed to where the membrane sheeting has been installed over the front corner.

   
There is that old steel column on the corner at the Square, as shown in the pictures from the turn of the (last) century.   The masonry subcontractor has completely inspected the brick exterior and repaired areas that had deteriorated mortar and bricks including the column in the picture to the left .   The old chimney finally is taken down. This is one of the interior walls in the "hole" area.

 
The replacement wood I-beams can now span the distance from the outside wall to the existing big redish brown steel I-beam at the right. Look at how far the floor had dropped by using the new beams as a reference.

     
The drywallers are right behind the workers that are replacing the old sections up front. Note the orange Sprinkler pipe down the hallway.   Third floor work along the Harding Way side. The old boiler won't ever be needed again. Each new apartment has its own heater and air conditioner.   Some of the former dinning and bar customers might recall the men's room hidden down in the basement.

   
The start of the new Unit-D. This section will not have the brick exterior.   Aligning the walls.   The new unit will go up three floors like the others.

   
The new Unit-D will soon block our view of Unit-C.   From the back. This the staging area for all new materials going in (and old going out).   The electric service line will be underground.
