If you look in the window of the pair of doors on the corner at the Square, you can see into the old dining room.
  		  From the southwest corner of the old banquet room. The window was in the old Main lobby and is the one nearest Quays Drug. The door opening goes into the dining room.   Out the window goes a radiator heating unit (circled) from the old hot water boiler system.
And down HWW, from those doors mentioned above, there is a broken pane of glass that allows a view of the old Handlebar bar area. Through the opening to the left was the dining area and the far doorway to the main lobby.
 
 
The kitchen was at the rear of the bar and between Unit-B (right) and Unit-C.
The fire in the 1940's is reported to have been in the kitchen.  		   Do you suppose some of the old bar patrons had to be wary of that step-down at the door?
 
The wall between the Lobby and Banquet Room is gone.
 		   The Lobby Stairs and where the Front Desk used to be.
 
From the Main Lobby through the Dining Room and to the front doors on the corner of the Square.
 		   This was the way to the Kitchen. In the upper right, the stairs from the lobby can be seen again.
Above the Dining Room Ceiling, this hand hewn beam serves as a reminder of the original building's construction.
 
At the other end of the building, back by the alley, these moldy floor joists must be removed. View is from the basement.
At the left these joists are being replaced. Note the temporary "bridge" with the safety railing. All of the OSHA workplace safety rules must be complied with even though conditions are constantly changing.
 
   
  On the second floor above the Dining Room, two adjoining rooms at the corner are shown. At the left is the front hallway. The lighted area is as far as you can go for now. Click here for a view from there. WARNING: it is not for the weak of heart!  
   
Checking in on the 3rd floor of C-Unit..C-Unit is the west most wing out the back that is perpendicular to Harding Way West.
These Trim boards (base boards, door casings) are being held for recycling back into the building.
  		  The wall studs still remain from the rooms on the west side of the hallway.   On the east side of C-Unit the roof is in tatters, but is still up there.
   
The white building between the hotel and the alley to the west is not included in the project.
